The Rock Workshop

About the Program

Started by Chris Ansuini in 2014, The Rock Workshop is an opportunity for students to play in a group under the guidance and instruction of an experienced director. Each band starts with weekly rehearsals over the course of 3 months followed by a performance. With each 3 month season, the band grows stronger as a group and builds a larger and more diverse repertoire. Students develop skills in leadership, team work, ear training, rhythm, group playing, improvisation, music production, and performance. They perform at a wide variety of events and venues including the Livermore Wine Festival, Danville 4th of July Parade, Livermore Farmers’ Market, Main Street Brewery in Pleasanton, the First Street Alehouse in Livermore and many others.

Perform at Local Venues

We perform at local venues and events such the Bothwell Center for the Arts in Livermore, The First Street Alehouse, Livermore Wine Country Street Fest, Danville 4th of July Parade, The Sunset Soiree at the Bankhead, Livermore Farmer’s Market and beyond. Next Generation

Next Generation was the first band formed in the Workshop. They stuck together for 5 years before heading off to college! The band recorded this EP just a few years into the program, eventually changing their name to Jupiter Days.
